Rekhs, the subtitling specialist, is beaming with joy that her efforts to raise the South Indian films to the next level got well appreciated in an international platform. Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay’s Kavalan directed by Siddhique is the only Tamil film which has been selected for screening amongst 2500 submissions in the 14th Shanghai International Film Festival in their panorama section.
While recounting the steps that lead to this feat, Rekhs says that she met Vijay at Dehradun while shooting for Nanban and found him to be a warm person who understands her mission of getting the right kind of recognition for Tamil films in the world arena and he also agreed to render all possible help in this mission. Rekhs adds that Vijay was magnanimous enough to foot the festival cost (entry fees and courier) and was very supportive of her endeavor.
